Meet Mrs. Ferguson

About Ashley
Teaching is my passion and I am so thrilled to get the opportunity to teach at Greenwood Laboratory School. I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Child & Family Development (2006) and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood & Family Development (2011), both from Missouri State University. I have been in education for fourteen years, teaching both kindergarten and first grade. I began my career at Willard East Elementary. I spent a couple of years at home when my daughters were born. While I loved that experience, I missed my title as Mrs. Ferguson. We all started school together with me teaching first grade at Strafford Elementary. I have served on several leadership committees and have loved working with many families over the years.
My husband, Garin, and I are both Springfield natives. We have thirteen year-old twin daughters, June and Kate, who attend Greenwood. They love playing volleyball, riding horses, playing music, and being outside. We also have two dogs (Charley & Scout), two cats (Remi & Cricket), and a small cattle farm. Our girls love Greenwood and I am looking forward to being more involved in the Greenwood community as a faculty member. As a family, we love to travel to new places, spend time on our boat, and also have relaxing weekends at our river cabin. I enjoy watching June and Kate play volleyball, getting outside whenever I can, and playing some volleyball myself.
